Lapis Lazuli is a rock formed by multiple minerals, mostly Lazurite, Sodalite, Calcite, and Pyrite, whose name is derived from the Latin lapis, "stone," and the Persian lazhuward, "blue."
The use of Lapis Lazuli dates back to 7570 BC where it was used for meditative and spiritual purposes, in more recent history Lapis was ground and made into ultramarine, the finest and most expensive of all blue pigments.
It is believed that Lapis Lazuli aids in understanding, learning and memory as well as encouraging success, honesty and harmony within relationships.
